New Year, New Me!

2 1/2 years and 3 kids (2 pregnancies) later, I am finding myself about 10 pounds heavier than I was when I got married.  I am also way too much of a couch potato.  Years ago, I would walk all the time.  My weight has fluctuated up and down over the last 16 years, from about 40 punds less than I am now to 15 pounds heavier than I currently am.  Another twin mom mentioned that she is doing the couch to 5K program and after looking at it, I figured it was a very doable program.  I have always wanted to start running, but never have.  I decided that I would start this program and at least it would give me something to follow.  I am hopeful that by the end of 9 weeks (according to this program) I will be able to run a 5K.

Today was my 1st day of my CT5K program.  I followed it exactly and found it pushiing my limits a little, but not so bad that I couldn't handle it.  My goal is to either do this program before the kids get up in the morning or while they are napping.  It's only 3 times a week so I should be able to get to it.

Wish me luck with getting a little healthier!

  1. I wish you much luck... We are starting Weight Watchers and I got the Wii Fit for my birthday. I plan on doing that and The Biggest Loser for the Wii. I want to drop some more weight before our wedding in June.

  2. Good for you! I've thought about doing CT5K, but haven't really looked into it yet. I also thought I might wait a bit, so that I might actually have the opportunity to run a 5K when I'm finished. I have to look into what 5K options there are in our area this spring. We'll see...

    Good luck!
