Back to Work

I think I posted a while ago that I had applied for a part time  job that had hours that were perfect for our family.  Well, since then, I have interviewed and received an offer that I really can't refuse.  The hours are M-F from 4:30p to 7:30p.  I won't have to worry about daycare since my husband will be home to watch them and even though I hoped that they would offer a salary that I thought was too low, they offered at the high end of the range that they mentioned at the interview.  I got the offer today and I quickly talked to Tom about it.  There really is no reason to refuse the job.  It will give us more money, get me back in the work force, help me maintain my knowledge, and get me out of the house feeling productive.  On some level I am looking forward to it, but I am also so sad.  I shouldn't be, I still get to be mostly a stay at home mom and won't have to worry about anyone but mom and dad taking care of the kids.  I get to be a professional, yet still be the main care giver for my children and that is the most important thing!

I will most likely be accepting the offer on Monday and then trying to plan a start date.  Wish me luck in going back to work after being out for almost 2 years.

  1. That sounds awesome! Great hours and great pay AND you still get to spend the majority of your day with the kids! Sounds like a dream job to me. Good luck!

  2. That is a perfect situation. The only thing you really miss is the fussy evening hours, dinner, and bed. You get to play all day with them and do all the play dates and fun things, and you even get home before and evening TV pleasures may start :) that is super ideal in my book! Congrats on the perfect situation. Hopefully you love the job and the working environment! I say this would even be the perfect opportunity to go shopping for a few new work outfits :)

  3. Thanks guys. I think it is a great situation. You both put it perfectly. I get to spend most of the day with the kids and also get to work in the profession that I spent so much time getting a degree in. Plus the kids won't have to be in daycare.
