What we did While Daddy Was On Vacation

Tom's Christmas vacation was spent taking care of the kids and trying to get out of the house at least once during the day every day.  We spent a lot of time at the mall just walking around, then we decided to try out the little play areas that they have.  We were at the North Shore Mall on Wednesday, and decided to let Michael play to get rid of some of his energy.  Michael and Thomas loved playing while Eva Rose slept the whole time!

Eva Rose sleeping through it all!

The other big adventure was taking the kids for Chinese food tonight!  We weren't sure how things would go, but it went great!  The twins ate hot and sour soup, fried rice, chicken fingers, and lo mien.  Eva Rose couldn't be fed fast enough, so while Tom helped Michael and I helped Eva Rose, our friend Mo helped to feed Thomas.  At one point, the twins were actually attempting to feed themselves.  Most of the food ended up on the floor, but it was impressive that they actually attempted.  Michael actually ate pretty well tonight which is actually really good!  Also, Michael actually drank from a sippy cup that had a hard spout vs a soft one.  He still doesn't do well when it is a no spill cup, but did great when he could spill it easily.

Today is January 1, 2010,  a new decade is starting.  The twins are almost 1 (January 23rd) and Michael will be 2 in another 2 months.  We have almost made a year with the twins and 3 kids under 2 (at one point 3 kids under 1).  The last couple of years have been nothing short of a whirl wind: MSW May 2007 and married in June 2007, baby March 2008, and twins January 2009, very sick twins February 2009.  Life is still going to be crazy, but hopefully it will settle a little and we won't have as many crazy things happen, jut normal stages with the kids.

Happy New Year All,
Amy

  1. So great to hear that Michael has been eating better. I know you were concerned about his eating at one point. Hopefully things will continue to go well in that area.

We also took the kids out for Chinese food for the first time during the holiday break. We all enjoyed it, so I imagine we'll do it again at some point.

    Happy New Year!
